The entrance to the inner harbor is guarded by Curtis Island and its iconic lighthouse, both of which appear in countless photos from land and sea. The head of the harbor is blanketed by Harbor Park, and the adjacent Amphitheatre up the hill, both gifts to Camden Public Library by Mary Louise Curtis Bok in the 1930s. When you are in town, stop by the harbormaster's office on the public wharf and say hello. There's always visiting and local boats and yachts to see, stories being shared, tales being told. Sometimes, an impromptu sea shanty will be accompanied by local musicians hailing from a windjammer or just passing by. Lively or serene, Camden Harbor is our jewel, and we are happy to share it.
